“This was my 5th short break and 7th BN trip overall. It’s been an absolute pleasure to be part of the history of Bike Normandy short breaks and while I’m sad that there are no more to come I aslo know that John & Jen have always delivered over and above expectations. There needs to be a new section on the website “What we don’t do – Bad Days” Every one has been brilliant as always! I wish you all the best for the next chapter in your life and hope to join you on a longer tour soon”

Charles May, 7th visit, FJR 1300, August 2018

Question: How do two people organise a house move. Via a ferry! While tending to an energetic puppy.  And guide six bikes carrying 10 persons to sample Normandy sights. Along twisty roads. Up and down hills, that should not be there. And rivers that meander softly through delightful locations each decorated with dream displays of beautiful flowers, on clean streets. Keep a conversation freely flowing and harmonise strangers into a single thinking group. This is topped by a perfect end of the day dinner washed down with copious fluid that loosened the tongue and warmed the belly. In a building that stands proud in a landscape of unequalled calm and beauty. It is a long time since this visitor switched off a light to be met by a real dark country night, being able to absorb it’s quiet.  Fabulous. Then of course there is the bike riding… Miles upon Miles upon Miles. Loved it. Thanks Bike Normandy!”

John Stone “Stoner”, KTM 990, 2nd trip, Cornwall, August 2018

Just a quick email to say thanks for a lovely weekend. Great hosts, lovely company, fabulous roads, super food and you even arranged sunny weather. I hope your move goes well and I suspect I will see you on another tour. Keep up the good work.”

My 4th trip with BN and it just gets better. The roads, the accommodation, the food, the hosts are all perfect. If you are in any doubt don’t be – this is the only way to tour Europe. I’ve been on other tours before and there is no comparison. Thanks again Jen and John”

Andy Aird, 4th trip, Kawasaki ZX6R, August 2018

Great weekend riding in Normandy with great hosts and accommodation. Thoroughly recommend it whatever your riding ability.

Steve Luckett, 1st visit, BMW RT1200, August 2018

Just returned from my 6th BN weekend and I have to say John and Jen’s hospitality, accommodation and route planning are all first class, and the fantastic empty roads around their base in Normandy makes it the perfect weekend for bike lovers of any ability. Can’t wait to join them on one of their tours in the future. Highly recommended!”

Mark Drury. 6th visit, BMR RT1200, August 2018

“Absolutely loved my first time at BN. Jen and John are wonderful hosts and the organised ride outs around the fantastic Normandy roads are catered to all abilities. I would definitely recommend BN”

So… I have just returned from the most epic Motorcycle holiday I have ever had! John and Jen are two of the most amazing, hospitable, kindest and outgoing people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! They both have a huge interest in bikes and both of them can ride so well with myself and the group feeling safe and secure so we could all enjoy our own individual rides. Jen’s cooking was absolutely exquisite! I am a huge foodie in life and I eat out a lot, Jen puts some of the Michelin starred chefs I have met to shame… I have had huge holiday blues returning back home at 2am yesterday but the photos and memories will last a lifetime… Thank you again guys, here’s to a future friendship and returned visits”

Lee Hancy, 1st visit, Suzuki GSXR 1000, Bolton, July 2018

[Wow, thanks Lee, we both really enjoyed the weekend & look forward to seeing you again soon. J&J]

I was going to write a long review about our experience with John and Jen and then I thought I can’t because I couldn’t think of just one thing I liked about our stay! “Everything was Brilliant” Thank you”

Kevin Jackson, 1st visit, Kawasaki S1000X, Bolton, July 2018

Fabulous roads, 5 star gourmet dining at Jen & John’s beautiful home and a lovely bunch of bikers to play with. A wonderful weekend. Thank You!”

Wendy Henrys, 7th visit, Triumph Street Triple 765R, July 2018

“We’ve just been on our 7th trip with John and Jen. It was our 3rd weekend break with them and it was well up to their usual standard – excellent! Riding on wonderful French roads in great company followed by fantastic home cooked meals, including beer and wine, what could be better!”

Steve Henrys, 7th trip, Triumph Street Triple 765R, July 2018

Weekend was excellent. John & Jen were perfect hosts. Couldn’t do enough to make sure everyone had a good and safe time. Ride-outs were great – something for every style of riding.”

What a fantastic trip. John and Jen were the perfect hosts, delivering great ride-outs, lovely stop offs and to top it all, the amazing evening meals. Thoroughly recommended. The Normandy countryside was truly beautiful. And the weather was scorchio”

Mark Scrivener, 1st visit, Yamaha Fazer 1000, June 2018

Thanks John and Jen, the weekend in Normandy was fab, the food was fab – came back 2 kg heavier, the company on the tour was great. As a single female travelling alone, you were great, your organisation made it so easy and therefore very enjoyable.
Recommending these guys is easy, very professional, very organised, friendly and thoughtful, would go on another tour in a heartbeat… in fact already thinking of next year”

Karen Bevan, 1st visit, Yamaha MT-07, June 2018

David & Lin Lake, 2nd trip, BMW R1200GS, June 2018

“Just completed a weekend in Normandy. Superb hospitality from John and Jen, met some great people, and rode some great roads in a beautiful part of the world. Very professional set up with a great personal touch and I can’t praise it enough. Hope to see you again soon.”

Paul East, 1st visit, Suzuki V-Strom 1000, June 2018

“A fantastic weekend away with John & Jen at Bike Normandy. Terrific roads and scenery with magnificent weather. Accommodation absolutely great, both comfortable and relaxed. Food was gorgeous. So much so that even after a weekend of riding I still managed to put on a kilo. I have never seen better organisation, it was extremely professional.”

The weekend of 8/9 June saw the return of the “Black Widows” – for many their 9th visit. If anyone has a question as to why we are stopping the BN Short Breaks then just look at the following photos (joke!) !!! This is more like a tour review than a weekend break – these guys certainly know how to pack in the fun!

Had a fantastic weekend with John and Jen the food was fantastic and so was the riding. For me it felt sad today knowing that we won’t be back again to your beautiful home. I’ll put something on the Bike Normandy page as well. Take care and enjoy your new dog when he turns up. Kindest regards”

Bonjour John and Jen. Thanks for another Black Widows biking break.
One of the best, especially as we had the wedding of the year – think it might make OK magazine!!
Sad it’s the last one at the house but would like to say big thank you for the 9 we have done. It’s always gonna be something we talk about in years to come – but we will see you on a widows euro tour in the future!!

Best wishes to you both”

Just got back from my best biking experience ever, a short break with Bike Normandy. John and Jen are the perfect hosts and really know how to organise a ride out in the Normandy countryside for our mixed ability group. Each day saw a couple of hundred miles flying past on awesome roads followed by an evening meal that was second to none. They are both passionate bikers with an obvious desire to pass on their huge experience to all their guests. An absolute inspiration and they even managed to make the sun shine on the most unlikely of weekends! Bike Normandy is absolutely unique.”

Tim Terry, 1st visit, Suzuki SV 650, June 2018

“4th time round for me, excellent as ever. Sad to think it will be the last but good luck to you both with your future plans. I can feel a tour coming on next year! Thank you John and Jen”

“Thanks again to you both for an awesome weekend. We both had a blast. Great riding, super food and good company. The dark, filthy, wet ride back up a busy, pot-holed A3 from Portsmouth was a rude welcome home to the joys of UK biking…”

A great experience with very friendly and knowledgeable hosts. Beautiful countryside and fantastic biking roads. Would like to come back again next year. Thank you John and Jen.”

“Just completed a short break weekend tour with Bike Normandy. John and Jen were excellent hosts and the group were very like minded and friendly. 3 days of great riding with each day ending with a relaxing and enjoyable meal. Needless to say, I ate too much and enjoyed the home made cider and drinks supplied. You can even have bread and butter pudding for breakfast!! Definitely on the list of things to do next year…Perhaps with a new bike too – see you at the NEC”

“Hi John and Jen, we would just like to say we had a fantastic time, with good company, new friends, fantastic roads and great hospitality. The whole tour felt safe and professional, and the back marker system was excellent, it gives everyone a good variety of riding ! Look forward to seeing you both again in the future, enjoy the rest of your year, safe riding !”

Paul & Linda Milton, 1st trip, Yamaha FJR 1300, August 2017
“Dear John ‘n Jen, thank you both very much for a brilliant weekend. The biking and food were both up to your usual high standards. You’ve obviously had lots of practice now, but I actually don’t think you ever needed it! It was a fun group too, I sometimes think that it’s you that causes the gelling of  that. Your ability to make everyone feel relaxed. Hope to see you next year”

“Thanks very much for the Bike Normandy weekend. As usual, the roads were stunning, the food was stunning and the organisation was stunning. Even the weather was good to us. I know the “Widows” can be hard work but you both coped well with the endless banter…even Della managed to put up with us for the weekend.

I was surprised, pleased and very grateful for the gifts you gave me to celebrate me annoying you 20 times. You were extremely generous which I suppose is just another example of a “normal” Bike Normandy trip  🙂 I’m already looking forward to my next 20…”

“Superlative… what more is there to say. The trip was brilliant and the hosts, John & Jen (and Della) treat you like family members, they welcome you into their home and cannot do enough for you. The accommodation is fantastic, the view is fantastic, fantastic selection of drinks and they are both brilliant cooks. The food was better than most restaurants. The roads are wonderful and both myself and Jen are GSX-S1000 owners, so that was fun. Learned so much from them both too. Worth every penny, will be going back. Thanks John & Jen, loved every minute.”
Andy MacKay, 1st visit, GSXS1000
“What can I say that can describe the experience of Bike Normandy? Superlative still doesn’t seem to cover it. Superb rides, special hosts, fantastic scenery and roads as well as great food and drink. We loved every minute of our time with John, Jen and Della – for whom nothing was too much trouble – and look forward to another adventure in the near future!”
Dave Manser & Jackie, 1st visit, BMW 1200GS, May 2017
“Just returned from my 4th visit in 10 years and the experience was every bit as enjoyable as the 1st trip. The secret of the success of Bike Normandy is not just the fantastic riding experience but the easy going affability of John & Jen Eggleton. Indeed, as far as I am concerned, they have gone from being just hosts to friends who I now enjoy seeing just as much as indulging in a brilliant time on the road.
Thanks again John & Jen and hope to return soon.”
Mick Abbott, 4th visit, Honda VFR1200, May 2017

He has thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with you and Jen, many thanks for taking care of him when he experienced tyre blow out. He hasn’t  shut up yet talking of the many experiences he enjoyed and sharing his photographs. Thank you both for giving him such a good time he’s already told me what he would like for next Christmas , you’ve guessed it another tour!! Hope you enjoy a successful summer with many more tours. Best wishes”

However these concerns were laid to rest in the first hour, the management of the bikes which allowed us to proceed at our own speed made the riding safe and enjoyable. The meals that you prepared (after a hard day’s riding) were superb and the time you made for your clients, welcoming them into your home, made the trip special. I would have no hesitation in recommending your company to any new clients and I’m already looking for dates next year.
