WHAT WE DO - TOURS D-Day Landing Beaches – including Pegasus Bridge, Arromanches & the American Cemetery Trips are run throughout the year – please contact us for available dates We regularly run trips to the D-Day landing beaches as part of our short on-road breaks. On your first day we meet you at your arrival port or agreed meeting point and guide you to our farmhouse, Bike Normandy, your base for two nights. From here on the second day we leave early morning for Pegasus Bridge, Benouville, arriving at the first house to be liberated during the last hour of 5th June 1944, now the Café Gondrée. You can visit the Pegasus Memorial museum and see the original Pegasus Bridge (it was replaced by the current bridge in 1994), a replica Horsa Glider as flown by Major Howard and other military equipment. We then continue on to Gold Beach at Arromanches, where impressive remains of the Mulberry B floating harbour can be seen. There is an informative museum in the town centre and also a 360o surround sound cinema on the outskirts of the town. Lunch is taken in one of the numerous cafés at Arromanches. A short ride from Arromanches brings us to the American Cemetery at Colleville sur Mer, which stands overlooking Omaha Beach. This immaculate site contains the graves of 9387 soldiers with a further 1557 names listed on the Walls of the Missing. The return ride to Bike Normandy on scenic roads takes around 2 ½ hours with a coffee stop en-route. On your third day we guide you back to your port or agreed departure point. This trip is run as part of our normal short on-road breaks which are priced at £239 per person – this includes:-
Price does not include:-
Further nights accommodation may be added subject to availability. A deposit of £50 per person is payable upon booking with the balance payable 6 weeks before departure. All Terms & Conditions relating to Bike Normandy Short On-Road breaks apply to all bookings. We hope to expand this trip to make a longer tour including a visit to the Pointe du Hoc, Sainte Mere Eglise, the British and German Cemeteries and Bayeux, staying in a hotel nearer the sites, however we can incorporate visits to these places currently depending on the requirements of the group.
